Privacy Policy

The Short Version
WarmSpell has no account, no server, and no sync service. Everything you log — hot flashes, symptom check-ins, treatments, visits — is stored only in a database inside the app, on your device. The app makes no network requests of any kind. It works identically with your device in airplane mode.
What We Collect
Nothing. WarmSpell has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash-reporting service, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party trackers of any kind. There is no data collection to opt out of, because nothing is ever collected, measured, or transmitted by the app.
We — the developer — never receive any of your health data, usage data, or device information. There is no server for it to go to.

None of this leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it yourself.
When Data Leaves Your Device, You're the One Sending It
Exporting a Visit report or a backup file writes that file inside the app's own storage and hands it to your device's native share sheet. Where it goes from there — Files, Mail, a text message, AirDrop, a printer, a cloud drive — is entirely your choice, made at that moment. The app itself never sends anything anywhere on its own.
Backups
Because the app's database lives in your device's standard app storage, it's included in your device's normal backup mechanism (iCloud on iOS, your Google account on Android) if you have that turned on at the OS level — the same as any other app on your phone. You can also create and manage your own backup file directly from Settings, independent of that.
What WarmSpell Does Not Do
- No account or sign-in is required or offered.
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking of any kind.
- No advertising SDKs, and no ads are shown.
- No device identifiers or advertising identifiers are collected.
- No data is sold or shared with third parties, because no data is collected from you in the first place.
- No cloud backend operated by the developer exists to store, process, or have access to your data.
Deleting Your Data
"Delete All My Data" in Settings erases everything on your device immediately. There is no copy stored anywhere else to separately request deletion of — the deletion is complete and instant the moment you confirm it. Uninstalling the app has the same effect.
Children's Privacy
WarmSpell is not directed at children and is not designed to collect information from anyone — children or adults — since it collects nothing at all. It is a personal health-tracking tool intended for adults navigating perimenopause or menopause.
Medical Disclaimer
WarmSpell restates the information you enter, and includes a fixed, citation-backed reference appendix bundled with the app (general framing from ACOG, The Menopause Society, and NHS publications). It does not diagnose anything, does not interpret your entries, and does not recommend treatment. Nothing in the app is medical advice. Talk to a clinician about anything that concerns you.
Changes to This Policy
If WarmSpell's data practices ever change, this policy will be updated before that change ships, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect it. Given the app's design principle of running entirely on-device with no backend, no such change is currently planned.
